AAWORD has since its inception, collaborated with African civil society organizations operating in such multivariate fields as research, gender, human rights, ICT, etc.
It also maintains relations with organizations such as International ALERT, CIFO, DAWN, AWID, FEMNET, CSW, ECA, CADI, PLAN INTERNATIONAL, F. EBERT FOUNDATION, OXFAM GB, OXFAM AMERICA, etc.
AAWORD has special and longstanding relations, particularly with:
- CODESRIA which hosted for more than 20 years, the Organization and continues to support it in its activities and provide it with some advisory services;
- FORD Foundation which has strongly supported AAWORD’s activities
At the African and International level, AAWORD participates in different frameworks of consultation and strategic plan preparation, action programmes and projects.
It also collaborates with United Nations Agencies, some Ministries of different African countries where it is represented and the Embassies.
It should be noted here, that the Heads of National Groups are essentially, members of the Advisory Committees of Ministries responsible for the Family and Gender in their countries.
